I am writing to express my disappointment at Banff Council rejecting the Bow Valley SPCA’s request for funding.
As a resident of Banff and a volunteer at the BVSPCA, each week I see the valuable work that the compassionate staff and volunteers do. The BVSPCA rehabilitates mistreated animals and houses and re-homes the homeless dogs and cats of the Bow Valley.
Many of the animals do come from Banff and a couple of my Banff friends have adopted from the BVSPCA. They do make a valuable contribution to our community.
It is sad that Banff council does not have compassion and concern for these animals that otherwise would be: put down, food for local wildlife, a menace on the streets or living in poor conditions.
