INNES, Jean Louise

It is with heavy hearts and many tears that we announce the passing of Jean Louise Innes.  Jeannie peacefully succumbed to bone marrow cancer after a long fought brave battle in her sleep in the early morning on July 20th at the age of 72.

Jeannie was born at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary, Alberta.  Although she grew up in Calgary, she spent many weekends in Canmore visiting family and periodically working at the Bow Valley Motel for her Aunt and Uncle during her teenage years. Jeannie was an elementary school teacher for over 24 years.  She was a patient teacher who made a spot in her heart for all of her students.  Eventually transitioning into real estate, she was quick to make a name for herself as she was generous and kind, very social and put her heart and soul into her work.  Jeannie adopted her daughter Haley in 1997, who quickly became the love of her life.  She then poured her heart into her daughter spending many hours at the skating rink, spending precious time at her place in Windermere or taking in all the sights at the Calgary Stampede.

Jeannie is survived by her daughter Haley (David), her cousin Diana (Ernie) Lakusta, Vic Batycki and many more family.  She was preceded in death by her mother Jennie and father Charlie Innes, her husband Gordon Teters and cousin Wendy Batycki.

Jeannie lived her life to the fullest and was always up for a grandiose story and a laugh. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering. The family wants to express their gratitude to the Canmore Home Care staff and the staff at the Canmore Cancer Clinic.

There will be a Celebration of Life for family and close friends at a later date.
