I am writing to express my strong support for the Banff Avenue pedestrian zone. As a resident of Banff for the summer, I am thoroughly enjoying the downtown core area because I can walk to all the amenities car-free. The feel of Banff Ave. without traffic is truly fantastic.

This initiative has proven to make the downtown streets more livable, enjoyable, and community-focused. Continuing the pedestrian zone presents an excellent opportunity for Banff to enhance the experience for both residents and visitors.

The pedestrian zone has transformed Banff Ave. into a safer and more enjoyable space for everyone. By prioritizing walking and biking over vehicle traffic, I am experiencing a more active Banff. I can easily visit coffee shops, retail stores and restaurants because as pedestrian, vehicle congestion is eliminated.

There is a significant improvement in the overall atmosphere of Banff because the decision to close Banff Avenue is prioritizing people over cars – a great plan for sure. While the pedestrian zone may not directly reduce the number of cars in Banff, it complements the community’s sustainability efforts. By promoting greener modes of transportation, such as walking and cycling, this initiative aligns with Banff’s mission to alleviate traffic congestion.

Please consider this my support for the continuation of the Banff Avenue pedestrian zone. I believe it is crucial for the future of this community.
