Editor:

Now that the Banff Ave issue has been solved, let's talk about another problem – the Mountain Ave redesign.

It is evident to all those living in the Middle Springs area that the intention of the design is not working. Every time I drive Mountain Ave, no matter the day or time, my neighbourhoods and I see multiple cars driving in the bus only lane. That tells us there is a problem and the current signage is not effective.

When those cars get to the lights, they want to turn left but there is no lane for them to go into because the cars that are in the car lane are turning left too. An accident is going to happen.

I have contacted everyone from the mayor to multiple Town staff and no one is taking responsibility for the defective design or even admitting there is a problem and therefore not acknowledging new signs are needed.

According to the mayor, they see 90 per cent compliance. If everyone involved sat at the sign by Middle Springs Drive for 15 minutes like I did to see how drivers respond to the median sign, they would see a 90 per cent non-compliance and see how the cars follow the buses or just stay right like the painted lines indicate they should do.

The design is an epic failure. It isn't safe and what will happen when the lines are covered in snow? Chaos, that's what.

But don't worry my fellow residents. The redesign was paid for with government grant money and parking fee money – not our taxes.

What a waste. That money could have done some real good for the locals.

Be safe out there.
