Canmore RCMP investigating gas station robbery

The suspects were described as carrying weapons including a firearm and a knife.

CANMORE – Canmore RCMP are investigating an armed robbery at a local gas station.

Canmore RCMP say they received a report of a robbery at the Circle K gas station on Bow Valley Trail in Canmore on Thursday (Aug. 29) at 6:50 a.m..

“Two suspects attempted to grab the staff member outside the business. The staff member was able to flee from the attackers and secure themselves in a back room,” said Cpl. Troy Savinkoff, an RCMP public information officer in a news release.

“One suspect then entered the store and stole several items. The suspects were described as carrying weapons including a firearm and a knife.”

While Canmore RCMP investigate, the public is being asked for assistance in identifying the suspects who are described as:

 Suspect 1:

  • Medium complexion;
  • Heavy set;
  • Clean shaven 20-30 years of age;
  • Grey sweat suit with a Crooks and Castle Logo. 

Suspect 2:

  • Medium complexion
  • Heavy set;
  • 16-20 years of age;
  • Wearing a White hooded jacket with a checker design.
