Police seek witnesses in death at Barrier Lake in Kananaskis

"Upon arrival, emergency workers attempted to assist a 52-year-old female victim who died on scene. The victim's cause of death is still under investigation."

KANANASKIS – Cochrane RCMP are seeking witnesses or video footage from cell phones or dash cameras that may help piece together an investigation into a sudden death at Barrier Lake earlier this month. 

On July 13, police received a report around 3:30 p.m. of a sudden death at Barrier Lake, off Highway 40 in Kananaskis.

"Upon arrival, emergency workers attempted to assist a 52-year-old female victim who died on scene. The victim's cause of death is still under investigation," states an RCMP media release.

An autopsy was scheduled for July 16, however, results were inconclusive, said Cochrane RCMP Cst. Bonnie Sauve. Police are waiting for any further information that may come from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary. 

Anyone with information, including video footage or an eye witness account of the events leading up to the incident or after, is asked to come forward.
