MD OF BIGHORN – A utility trailer that caught fire on the Trans-Canada Highway near Lac Des Arcs is delaying westbound traffic.

RCMP public information officer Cpl. Gina Slaney said the call was reported around 6 p.m. and a fire crew is on scene.

Slaney said emergency personnel responded to a "fire assist".

“[It’s] a utility trailer on fire, 100 metres east of Lac Des Arcs on Highway 1.”

The vehicle towing the trailer is a Mitsubishi Outlander. The cause of the fire is unknown.

“It’s not a vehicle collision. It just caught on fire,” said Slaney.
