LETTER: As the August 12th referendum on the Town of Banff’s pedestrian zone rapidly approaches, I ask eligible local residents to consider a few important questions before deciding how to vote.

LETTER: I hope that the Parks Canada Superintendent for Banff field unit, Banff town council and the Banff Lake Louise Tourism Bureau will invest the time to rethink the Banff Ave. pedestrian zone debacle in light of the recent tragedy in Jasper.

Editor: Our top priority is the safety and security of our community, and all other activities become secondary in times of emergency to safeguard our residents and visitors.

LETTER: In my opinion, unless it’s accessible to everyone it shouldn’t be accessible to anyone.

LETTER: I am writing to express my growing concern regarding the persistent traffic congestion at the intersection of Railway Avenue and Bow Valley Trail.

LETTER: Pedestrianization isn’t about attracting tourists, it’s about creating community in our town. Those of us who live here, benefit from it as much, or more, than visitors.

LETTER: Join me in voting yes in supporting Banff council’s decision to have a downtown pedestrian zone on Banff Avenue every summer, where our traditions of hospitality can flourish even more.

LETTER: I am writing to thank the many people who have helped me and my family as I’ve tried to cope with two-and-a-half years of post-COVID-19 condition, more commonly known as long-COVID.

LETTER: In regard to the reopening of the grizzly hunt, in a time when the planet is suffering more, and stressors are ever more present, our provincial government seems to be going the way of the luddites.

LETTER: The constant growth ethos of the current establishment and the burgeoning pedestrian zone means this will only become worse, requiring more staff, more parking, more crowding, more, more, more.
